Clearly Tennis has many benefits for youth including better health, meeting friends, college admission/scholarships, having fun, and so forth. Extracurricular activities like sports, count for 30% of the college admission/scholarship process. Children need activities where they can excel at. Through tennis they can also learn and cultivate stoic values like strong work ethics, dedication, discipline, teamwork, communication skills, sportmanship, overcoming obstacles, etc. "Universities are looking for evidence of commitment and consistency of effort over time. Rather than being good in multiple different areas, admissions officers are looking for students that are outstanding in one particular subject."
